Physical Therapy

Physical Therapists are highly trained health care professionals who treat patients who have been referred for physical therapy by their physicians. Our therapists will listen to you, evaluate your unique situation and work with you to relieve your pain to improve your quality of life. We do this using a variety of techniques such as exercises, Ultrasound, Electrical Stimulation, and Heat/Cold therapies. Our compassionate staff will work with you to find the right therapy for you.

Some of the things we can help you with are:

  • Back and neck pain
  • Headaches
  • Shoulder and elbow pain
  • Hand and wrist pain
  • Leg, hip, knee, ankle, and foot pain
  • Post-surgical rehab

We educate our patients on their conditions and the changes to take home that will help eliminate pain, gain strength and make improvements that will help you stay strong in the future. We also provide an after-care program for those patients desiring to continue their exercise program after discharge from therapy. This program is carried out at Bianco’s Fitness Center and your therapist will help guide you with your program on an as needed basis. We offer discounted membership rates.

How can Physical Therapy help me?
A Physical Therapist will listen to you, evaluate your condition and identify your source of pain or dysfunction. Once evaluated, the therapist will develop a treatment plan that may include manual therapy, modalities, and/or an exercise program. You will be instructed in a home exercise program and educated on how to prevent re-injury.

What do I need to get started?
Michigan law requires that a patient get a prescription from a medical doctor in order to begin physical therapy treatment. A physical therapist can evaluate an individual, and we offer free consultations, but in order to begin treatment a prescription is required.

Contact us today to get started. We will need your name, insurance information and will need to know if your injury is work related, motor vehicle related or other. Most often, we can see you within 24-48 hours of your first call.

Does insurance cover physical therapy?
Medical insurances generally will cover physical therapy services. However, each insurance plan is different. You can check with your insurance carrier to determine your coverage. In addition, prior to providing physical therapy services, our staff will verify your coverage.

What will I do on my first visit?
Please plan on coming in 15 minutes prior to your appointment as there is important paperwork to complete. Bring your physician’s referral, your insurance card (if applicable) and wear comfortable clothing.

You will be evaluated by a licensed physical therapist and a treatment plan will be developed for you. This first visit generally lasts one hour. Future appointments will then be scheduled at that time.

What are my options upon completing my course of therapy?
Many of our patients continue with their exercise program at Bianco’s Fitness Center. Your therapist will create your after-care program and monitor it on a monthly basis. Our discharged patients can join Bianco’s Fitness Center at a discounted membership rate.
